Getting Started
The fact that you've visited this page means that you're thinking about saving for retirement and want to learn more. At this stage there are 3 questions you need to ask yourself:
Q1: How am I going to pay for my retirement?
Q2: How much money will I need to live on?
Q3: When am I going to retire?
Having an answer, even if you're unsure it's correct, is an important start.

Retirement - it's longer than you think
The money you earn or save during your working lifetime has to finance you after you stop work. As people generally live longer today, your money may have to last you a very long time.
Savings need time to grow
Most of us have no idea how much we are going to need. Think of how much you earn now? Is it enough? And would it be enough to live on if you were to stop working in 10, 20 or 30 years?
The younger you start to save the better - your pension savings will have longer to grow. Try to think about how much money you might need and start planning how to achieve this. If you don't save for your future, who will?

Don't wait until it's too late
How much you have to live on depends on how long you plan to save. If you've only just started work and plan to retire early then you'll have less time to save and your savings will have to last longer. This means you'll need to save more.
It might be a long time until you decide to retire. If so, learn more about saving and let PENSIONSFORCE help you make the decisions that are best for you.
